The contest "Composing songs about Lai Chau" in 2021 is organized by the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism in collaboration with the Literature and Arts Association of Lai Chau province.

The contest with the theme "Lai Chau spreads the land and humanity" aims to attract and encourage professional and amateur musicians to compose songs about Lai Chau, promote the cultural identity of the ethnic groups, and create teaching pride in tradition, unique cultural features, creating resources to introduce and promote the land, people and historical traditions of Lai Chau to friends inside and outside the province.

 The content reflects the great achievements that the Party Committee and people of Lai Chau strive to achieve in the fields of politics, economy, culture and society, especially achievements in the doi moi period. Reflecting the cultural identity of the people of all ethnic groups living in Lai Chau homeland. Praise the homeland, people, potentials and strengths of Lai Chau province. To encourage the creation of topics to develop folk songs about ethnic minorities in Lai Chau; topics of social interest such as national unity in the trend of integration and sustainable development. Encourage musicians to explore and create new ideas in musical structure, lyrics, methods of performance and exploitation of new materials.

Works can be submitted individually or in groups of authors; Organize the selection into 2 rounds: Preliminary and Final.

Scale of organization The contest was widely launched nationwide. Participants are professional and amateur musicians inside and outside the province.

Number of entries: Each author or group of authors submits no more than 5 entries.

Execution time:

From April 1 to August 30, 2021, to receive and synthesize the works of the preliminary round.

From September 1 to the end of October 2021: Scoring, selection, and announcement of works submitted to the Preliminary round (15 works to the final round). Receipt of works for the final round (works in CD version with audio recording of songs, including music and lyrics, the time of receipt will end on October 5, 2021, calculated by postmark. End of October. 2021 will organize scoring, selecting, announcing and awarding the Contest.
