The fair in Si Lo Lau commune (Phong Tho district, Lai Chau province) still retains the wild features and imbued with highland culture. On weekends, ethnic minorities from all over the world flock to the market, bringing products to trade and exchange, creating a distinct cultural beauty at the border.

The market in Si Lo Lau commune always sells brocade products with colorful colors, meeting the wearing culture of people of many ethnic groups. Unlike busy markets in big cities, agricultural products in this border market are very rustic, simple and affordable.

The market is usually held on Saturdays and Sundays. Participating in selling and playing in the market are mainly Mong, Dao, and Ha Nhi ethnic groups... so the goods here are also boldly ethnic. (In the picture are colorful frills for people to use makeup for hats, shirts, scarves or skirts). Brocade products are hand-woven by ethnic minorities and sold on wooden and bamboo shelves. The Mong girls come to the market to reward themselves with new costumes, after days of hard work in the fields.

The market usually ends in the afternoon, when the buyers and sellers are done, the market space returns to the serenity of the border countryside.
