Nam Pi village, Nam Pi commune is located in Nam Nhon district, Lai Chau province.

Nam Pi commune was established on the basis of adjusting 7,347.29 hectares of natural area, 1,996 people of Chan Nua commune according to Resolution No. 71/NQ-CP on November 2, 2012 of the Prime Minister on the adjusting administrative boundaries to establish commune- and district-level administrative units in Lai Chau province. In the same year, 5 communes: Le Loi, Pu Dao, Nam Pi, Nam Ban and Trung Chai of Sin Ho district moved into Nam Nhon district.

In 2012, the whole Nam Pi commune had 7,347.29 hectares of natural area and 1,996 people.

In terms of administrative boundaries, the East borders with Chan Nua commune, Xa De Phin commune; West borders Pu Dao commune, Nam Hang commune, Muong Te district; The South borders with Chan Nua, Le Loi and Pu Dao communes; North borders with Nam Ban commune.
